Cakes and Wierd(nosey) People

Last week i made a wedding cake along with many other crafts! I also encountered a weird lady at OfficeMax on Tuesday of this week. Why bring these both up? b/c they left a weird taste in my mouth. Let me explain...

The wedding cake... I just left the place feeling sad that it was so windy for the big day of this Bride i never met but only talked to. The ribbon on the cake wasn't working very well. The bride's mom was having a very stressful few hours and little things just seemed to be going wrong like the caterers were 2 hours early, no trash cans were designate for the outdoors( except for an ugly one with a crack in it, the cake ribbon was odd, and its was super WARM like 89-91 outside. Oh, and the B&G didn't even show up until after i left ( many mins. after the reception was supposed to have started at.) So, I left there with a weird taste in my mouth.

OfficeMax...
I took only B with me to OfficeMax on Tues to get shipping stuff and i get down this aisle and this hispanic lady says to me - what a pretty girl you have, who does she look like? i said she looks like her b-mom but a lot like Brandon( blue eyes, blonde hair) Oh, you adopted her? the lady says in somewhat of a shocked tone. I said yeah, we did and she says- does she know she's adopted( all of this in front of B) and i said yes and briefly explained that it's an open adoption and that B loves her Tummy Mommy and Her Mommy. the lady said- well of course she loves her REAL mom. Does she see her? i told her she does from time to time and then she asked me how long have i had her? I said she was placed in our arms at 5 days old and we finalized her adoption a few months after that. So, what do you tell her about her adoption?, said the woman. I told her that God had a special Plan for B to be born to her tummy mommy so she could find her way through her, to be part of our family forever. It's a very spiritual thing. The lady said "So, I guess she's pretty much Your daughter and your her mom then, anyways!"
I was thinking in my head "Duh, you silly person. "poor lady, she just doesn't understand that every child deserves a MOM and DAD", i think all babies Deserve to have 2 parents and Every opportunity to live in healthy family enviroment.

anywho, it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Okay Happy NEWS...

Gym n Swim

Here's our girlies!
Aria Finally LOVES to swim and float! Today in her class she splashed and smiled while being challenged to turn and float on her own when she needs a breath! She got out of the pool HAPPY!
It takes a while for little ones to enjoy something new. But once they have confidence in the gained skills- then it's FUN! I can't wait to play with Aria in the pool on Saturday. She loves swimming from person to person or from us to the steps. Remember she's not quite 2 yet.
Brielle had a fun month of gymnastics as she went 2 times a week. The first couple times she loved it. She still likes it but would prefer to swim in this crazy heat.
She loves everything like frog hops and beam work. She' s almost got a kiddo 4 pack abs. She's getting strong! we will resume gymnastics in the fall!

Gotta Love them two! They are both sassy and loving sisters and often times Brielle will come and whine to me that Aria hit her or took something and I'll respond with something like( just to see what she will say or do) " Go hit her back!" Then B will say to me" I don't want to" I ask her why and she says" cuz she's my baby sister and i love her" I am so glad B is such a good girl!

Too silly and more...

Brielle always amazes me with things she comes up with. Yesterday she said to Aria( very matter-of-factly) "You are NOT wearing a Necklace so, you CAN NOT be in the Strong Bug Club, Aria!
(referring to Miss Spider's show)

I was doing her hair the other day and had the water going as i kept putting the brush under the water and she said" turn it off, mom, your wasting water!" I said Your right and i turned it off!

Today she said " look at this yellow-orange spot on my leg ( a very old bruise). It looks like a tiny cantaloupe"

I also tell her that we can do certain things together once Aria is down for a nap. She will tell me "mom, Aria looks ready to go to sleep now, Can we go swimming?"at like 10 am "Aria said she's tired can you put her down now?" " Can you put her in her bed now so we can go shopping" She finds reasons why Aria needs to take a nap! It's funny!
Aria naps at 1 ish so people should call me then but, i might be swimming with B or out at the store while brandon works from the home office! It's great!

Have a Great Memorial Day!

Here's what I've been up to...

Also, Aria is getting really good at swimming and I'll take pics of her this week. We had a great fun Saturday in the pool, at the splash park for Sophie's B-day and then I went to the Wyson's for a little visit with Cachay and Friends.

I finished a ton of projects and am looking forward finishing Diesel's pics, the girls pics, making about 15 or so baby bracelets and a couple sets, maybe more, fulfilling another crochet flower order for Candy Elephant, sewing a Diaper clutch for i class i will teach in late June at Quiltique and maybe whipping out a few more dresses for MY girls this time-I'm probably just going to use fabric i have and make these dresses more like Play Dresses or something to throw over the swimsuit when the towel dresses are dirty or just not enough.

Oh, and this Saturday i will be delivering a 3 tiered wedding cake for Jessica Penman's wedding. That process starts Thursday night with a few hours of baking. Now, that i have a double oven, it speeds up the baking process- loving the Viking Professional, baby! Then Friday, I ice the cakes and stick them in the freezer-.Saturday, I detail and deliver them around 5-5:30 then i plan on going over Angie D's for a BBQ/pool party! It will be a nice way to end a semi-stressful cake day!

Hope you all have great week!

funny things from B's lips...

Brielle said this to me in the car this morning on the way to the gym...
She was really trying to tell me so seriously....

"Mom, Baby Jesus was a baby, then he got big, then he was a baby again and He cracked open, like an egg and blood went everywhere!"( her eyes were huge in my rear view mirror)
She said CRACKED OPEN with so much emotion i could help but laugh. It was so cute.

I think she got confused with last Easter's talk and Last Christmas's Talk.

HAPPY MOTHER"S DAY!

YAY! It's Mother's Day! I just wanted to congratulate all the 1st time Mother's Day Moms! It means so much more once you become a mom. You understand that your mom sacrificed so much for you. You also realize what YOU want to do different as a mother to your own children.

That aside, Every Year i have talked about the amazing Birth-mother that placed Brielle with us. She made me a MOM first. I am so blessed and grateful for that selfless gift. I wish you a Happy Mother's Day too! But, this time I want to write about my girls and my own mother, mother -in-law and grandmother's...

The Late Grandma Hellyar (Florence) was such a lover and so sweet and loved to tell us amazing stories about her childhood in the pre and post war era, with 8 brothers. She massaged our feet and legs everytime we visited! It was something we looked forward to and she told us her stories and family history and she rubbed our soles! She was a nurse back in the day and loved taking care of others. I always saw her have other people living with her that she was taking care of. Some were older than her, some were just in need of physical help. She loved to cook and always had some sweet bread or pie made or something nice. She was a true nuturing mother. Thanks for Loving me, Grandma! We all LOVE and miss you!

Grandma Billie Jean ( my Mom's Mom) is such a LIVELY grandma. Some of my favorite memories were of Grandma teaching me how to dance or talking a walk with me around McGee Creek. She loved music and dance and danced professionally as a young woman. She loved Musicals and recanting stories of her youth as a dairy hieress( or cattle, i can't remember if her father raised dairy cow's or angus)She had servants and private lessons and was her dad's jewel!
She has a Major sweet tooth and LOVED to feed treats to us too. i remember one day while at McGee we had 2 pieces of cinnamano toast and Milk for breakfast, a popsicle after our lunch, and a Bowl full or Rootbeer and ice cream all in one day. we might have even had Marshmallows too! Gma has always been so sweet in every way. She has a heart of Gold just like her late husband, Leonard. they both love everyone unconditionally.I LOVE YOU GRANDMA!

Betty, ( Brandon's Mom) I am so lucky, YOU are the mother Brandon had! God knew what he was doing when He sent Brandon to your family! I love that Man you raised! You taught him to be sweet and respectful to ladies and to me. He's a FANTASTIC DADDY to his girls! He is a great communicator and helper and provider. You did a Terrific Job! You are also a fabulous Grandma to our girls! You watch them on the occasional weekend and they always are asking to go back to your home. They love their special time with You and you too have such a great Heart. I'm so glad we have grown so close in these last couple years! I'm lucky to have you as a Mother in Law! Love you to pieces!

My Mom has always been a huge-hearted person as well. even so that sometimes it leaves her open to being hurt. She loves unconditionally as well. we are commanded to Love as Christ and God Love US, so we are to love others. My mom showed me this when she would bring dinners to those in need, take in a nephew who needed help, talk to us and made sure we knew she loved us. She sacrificed so much so we could be taken care of. She left notes in our lunch or on our pillows. She supported us at games, plays, concerts. She made us realize we had great potential and she taught me to LOVE as well. Mom, is very honest and candid and BLUNT. which i prefer that people be direct in communication instead of beat around the bush. She loves adventure and the outdoors. She so motivated in many ways and reminds me often that i need to SHARE the gifts that God gave me with others. I appreciate all she did for us amid her struggles in her personal relationships. She is so Happy with Carl and He's an amazing addition to her life and Mine. I'm so lucky to have a trusting loving relationship with my mom. thanks so much for taking care of every need i ever had growing up. I LOVE YOU!

My Girls... Brielle, you made me a mother! Aria, you helped Brielle become a caring big sister and me become a better Mother. I'm so lucky that you picked me to be your mommy! You two drive me bonkers sometimes but, i mostly can't get enough of you. It's wierd how at night I look forward to you going to bed but after about 2 hours, I wish you'd hurry and wake up so we can play and snuggle, swim, jump, laugh and be together. I am so excited to see you both grow and progress but i want you to SLOW DOWN! Brielle, you are way too smart!(and you keep me on my toes) How do you understand things like planets and counting to 25 so fast! Aria, You are way too physical! You can figure things out and move just about anything anywhere. Many times, i have seen you unlock the baby gate and try to hold it as it's falling down on you and you yell for help. How did you figure that out? You girls amaze me everyday! I love you both so much and am so glad I'm your mommy, even when I'm grumpy. Brielle and Aria, You are the best Mother's Day gift anyone could ask for. Just keep giving me kisses and hugs! Love you Sugars and Teeny Bits!

Happy MOM'S DAY EVERYONE!

Christian Photography

A place to land all my Photos, or at least the BEST OF my pics! A few people were getting disgruntled that i had my photos of NON-CCBABYINC related things on my CCBABYINC blog. So, here's my dedicated Blog just for Photography. Watch it progress! Also, If you haven't figured out, I'm kind of using Blogs as folders. Each blog contains something specific. That way i don't just jumble everything into one blog and make a huge mess.

Teey Bits...

O' Sass! Aria is full of energy and Sassiness! She's been swimming all last week and Brielle did 2 trial gymnastics classes. Aria is thinking she can just throw fits all the time but I'm reading up on my Love and Logic tools. I put her in time out at Brielle's gym class. She hated it but made it through and was a better behaved girlie!
Brielle has taught her a bit of sneaky-ness too! what am I going to do with these girls of mine? they make me CRaZy sometimes! Maybe I'm not PREGNANT b/c God knows i couldn't handle three yet. I've got my work cut out for me.
She looks like she'd hiding something from me, here!
More later!

Good to go!

So, we determined Aria just had a stomach bug. In the process i learned a lot about stomach issues and viruses. I read up on Rotovirus, Makes me even more of a fanatic about washing hands and sanitizers! YUCK! Luckily, it wasn't that. She's all good now.

Aria seems to be growing up before our eyes. She's turning two in July! Yep, already! I'll have 2 and a 3 year old.

Brielle just took her 1 week refresher course with Miss Frankie, Her ISR swim instructor. She did great, she's a fish. I love it! She walks around and tells people" Guess what? I am going to swim with Miss Frankie today" Or I can swim really really good, you wanna come watch me?"
It's too cute.

The girls jump on the trampoline about 2 times a day and they love to play with eachother so much. I'm so glad Heavenly Father gave them to us and to eachother!

This week, we did swim lessons, the workout routine, Talmage's B-day party( oh so fun) and had lots of people over as well. I folded mounds of laundry, did loads of dishes and tomorrow, I'm cleaning my floors and the girls rooms. Deep clean style! Finally putting the late spring/winter clothes away. I might need another plastic storage bin!

On My Mind:
Will the recession ever end?
Am I pregnant? Do i want to be right now? Probably not till May or June, really!
When will i get to see all my cousins again? My sister and her boys?
Still hoping for my cousins and the adoption's in the future for them. My ears are peeled. I have knowledge of 2 girls who are deciding what to do. I'm praying for you, Cousins!
What's Brandon's new business going to be like?
Our 7 yr anniversary is in July( the 5th)? Should we vacation in SD( where we were married) or CO( where we will move in the next year-hopefully)? Probably CO. i already looked into another whitewater rafting trip, sounds fun.
We are looking for a SUV to buy right now. Must haves: leather, DVD player(s), 7 seats, less than 60,000 miles, fold flat thid row( optional but preferred), if possible, enough trunck space once the third row is up too!
Cars that fit those parameters: QX56, Armada LE, GX470, Tahoe, Denali-Yukon, Navigator
Keep your eyes peeled for us!

Love to you all!

ONE Long week!

So we went up to UT last Sunday and about 3 hours into our road trip, Aria surprised us with a vomiting episode in her 4 hour old car seat cover, i just purchased. It seems a familiar circumstance yet again. Brielle did the same thing to me when she was about 20 months on the way up to visit my Sister in UT. We had just got the car seat as well. SO, aria puked in the same one just with a brand new cover on it. Oh and to add to that, she had the runs streaming down one leg. So we ( meaning myself and brave Uncle Brian Christian) had to pull over on the side on the freeway on the pass between st. george and cedar city. Strip Aria down, hose her off with a water bottle, clean the car seat as best as i could with pretically all the wipes i had brought for the trip and put her back into the car seat after changing her on the hood of the car. 3= hours after that we arrived safely at Aunt Peggy's home and i began cleaning and feeding my girls before bedtime. We had diiner at 9 an dthe girls went to sleep at 9:30, Way too late! Thankfully, Gma Betty had bathed them while i was frantically cleaning the car seat and clothes so dinner was peaceful and the night went well, since we all slept hard!

Monday morning we enjoyed delicious pancakes from scratch, went to one of my fav. stores, Naartjie, then to Ikea for lunch, then to gorgeous Wheeler farms to see all the animals and feed the geese and so forth. That afternoon, Aria threw up again at Peggy's house. Then she napped.
It's really wierd b/c she had no temp. and after the episode she would just go back to having fun.
We couldn't figure it out. That night Brian and Denise came over, we enjoyed dinner and rootbeer floats and lots of talking and looking at Brandon's old baby pics! Too cute. we found ones that look almost Identical to Aria!

On Tuesday, we went to Gma Thayne's funeral services and it was actually surprisingly really nice. I HATE FUNERALS! I NEVER look at the open casket. I like to remember people as i knew them, not remember them in a box. Those kind of pictures linger too long in my mind. So, i'd rather not put them there. I know Gma T is healthy and Happy in Spirit Paradise and she is in no pain. I guess funerals wig me out b/c it's about the physical body being buried. I prefer Memorials. This funeral was more like a Memorial. Many talked about about memories and secret gifts from Gma. It was like i got a second view at who she was.

When my physical body is to be rested into the earth, I want everyone to have a PARTY. A Memorial Party of Sorts! I wnat them to share the memories they had of me and be happy that I'm in a better place now. I don't want an open casket. I don't want a Funeral service. I just want my children and family to have a quite burial and then go and have a big CELEBRATION!
And after watching SEVEN POUNDS, i'll probably donate my organs. Why not right? Our Bodies will be made whole in the resurrection, so, why can't another person benefit from my healthy parts.

ON A LIGHTER NOTE:

I had a great Saturday strating my day off with a Pedicure and massage with my friend Melyna! Thanks so much Melyna! You are awesome! Then Brielle and i wen to Phoebe's Party( she turned 1) and Phoebe didn't want anything to do with her birthday cake.. Poor thing was crying when she got icing on her hands. Then I took senior Photos for Jensen and Ellen. Then Q and heidi and girls came over for a movie and BBQ and we had a lovely time. Church was great On Sunday and we spent dinner with Betty, Claire and Brian and man. Aria love her Uncle Bri!
It's too cute. She better love him too b/c He helped clean her up on th eside of the road last sunday! He's going to be a great DAD one day!

Oh Aria Puked 2 more times after that trip here in GV. The jury is still out on what it is. I say she has a slight allergy to some foods, Brandon thinks she's gagging her self with her fingers on accident or from Thumb sucking. Who knows. No throw up for 2 days now. Lets see how tomorrow turns out. Here's some pics i took of B and A today! ~C

Big Losses!

So, a bit of SAD news. I know it's not fun, but it has made me reflect a lot lately. First, 2 of my friends, Free and Melanie are moving far away. Mel is moving to SLC and Free is moving to Hawaii. It hit me today that i won't have these ladies and my fingertips anymore. I was calling Melanie and leaving a message on her phone and i broke down at the end. I am a wreck. I hope to see her when we visit UT, which isn't much anymore.

Melanie is one of those people who are genuinely nice and kind to everyone they meet. She is a great mom, super fit, loves her life and learns to deal with reality well. She has helped me become a better mom and is a motivating force behind why i stay fit. When i get in even better shape, i want to look like Melanie:) She is super talented and creative and I have tremendous respect for her and her family! Brielle will miss playing with Halie and Caleb on an almost Daily basis. She loves them heeps!

Free, is the kind of women who is so grounded that you just feel more at peace right when you walk up to her. Her energy is vibrant yet soothing and calm. She's taught me about essential oils and living the life that makes me happy. She reminds me to slow down and not to put too much on my plate. She let's me know when enough is enough and I love her sweet and motherly attributes. Brielle will miss India and I will miss our days of parks, beading, museum outings, and catch up lunches. Hawaii is so far. I hope to go there someday though. She will now keep us informed via Facebook.

Lastly, Great Grandma ( brandon's Grandma- Betty's Mom) Lorraine Thayne passed away around 2 pm today. She was a vivacious spirited lady to loved BYU sports and all her many ( over 40 ish +) grand and great grandkids. She always called me on my birthday when i became part of the family. I got to talk with her almost everytime we went up to UT. She had a LONG full life and I know she's Happier looking down on us, now that she's free from pain and surrounded by all her other family members in Heaven. She will always be with us in our hearts.

People are meant to be in our lives sometimes only for a small moment. Some stay in our lives for along time. Either way, we are supposed to learn something from every person we meet. It may be a characteristic, a lesson,a communication, or even we are meant to just connect through feelings of the Spirit for a moment. Our Earth Life is so short and we are to learn so much from/because of others. So, remember to be kind to everyone and to Listen and Learn from others. There's a purpose behind everyone we meet. Only Heaven knows beforehand but, if we are open- hearted enough, we just might be Ready to Meet Our Creator, when it's our turn to pass from this mortal state. I love you all. anyone who REALLY knows me, knows I mean that too. Thanks so much for being a part of my life, even if i knew you for a second. You've changed my life for the better!

I also figured out what GENES ARIA gets from ME. Since she so dominantly BRANDON, just the fem version. She's got my EYE shape, my cheeks and my LOWER half! Yep, today as i let her run around bottomless in our backyard (to help clear up a small rash) I realized...Hmmm, her legs and booty are JUST LIKE MINE! Just miniature. So, there you have it. Aria is me from the waist down!
Bubble butt and muscular legs. Sorry, future Aria as a teen, just work out and you'll be fine!Love you!

ps. I'm finally having time to read all your lovely blogs, dear friends!

Still busy, getting help

So, this week went by with a flash of lightening. We did the gym routine, shopped at Target, Trader Joe's and so on. I started Training Alexis, my new help for when Susan moves or when i get overloaded with work. She's so sweet and is a new mom of a 1 month old. Good news- I MOVED FROM SIZE M TO SIZE S:) in my gym clothes a least. Still a size 6-7 depending on the brand:)

I took pics of her baby, Ginger and of Sara's Baby too, Kylie. I edited the Rollans family photos, as pictured, and made tons of hair clips and finished off more jewelry. My girls and i went to the Springs Preserve and played for a few hours last Tuesday.
It's been mighty windy here for the past few days but today it finally settled down. We had a great time at the Miller's home dying eggs, eating a nice lunch, letting the girls egg hunt and get some nice goodies from the family! We Love the Sanders and all extended family. thanks for being so wonderful and loving. You are eternally part of our Family forever b/c of Brielle:) We are so lucky!

My fav. part was watching Brielle and Aria dip their tiny hands and fingers into the perfect cups of dye and splash around( aria) or put the already dyed egg back into another dye( brielle) just b/c she likes the process. Aria danced a jig in a sweet barret ( the flatish hat thing) that Dawn brought back from Ireland for the girls. They love the lambs too! So Cute!

Brielle is going to love the hunt this year. Brandon and I are getting her a bike and Aria a Trike( that we can push too:) We like this cute 20 inch Trek bike in aqua blue with hibiscus flowers on it! Very cute! Aria will get a radio Flyer/ pushy thing but, in two years she'll get Brielle's sweet bike.
I am a younger sister and i didn't mind hand-me-downs. I sure hope she's good with them too. Everyone tells me she will start caring when she's like 8 or 9. till then, I'm buying Quality for Brielle so Aria can have a good product as well! LONG TERM thinking!

This week ahead: shooting a birthday boys' 1st b-day pics!, Senior pics, editing 2 boys senior pics and baby pics/ playing playdough with Brielle, making some more cute wipes cases anc burps. Making more bows and flowers, and gearing up for Easter!

Brielle understands WHO Jesus is, i just wonder if she will understand what He did for her and Us at such a young age. we will be talking about it a lot this week. She's such a great and smart girl.
She is going to be in Preschool this fall and is an early admission student! She's so bright, why make her wait. The kids will only be 4-8 months older than her. SHe already has teacher approval and will be attending the LDS Private school- American Heritage Academy! We are so excited for her.
Cute things she said this week:
" Mom, Home is where my heart is"

" Look, i see Jupiter, and there's baby Jupiter" ( just another bright star)

" Mom, we are in the air right now" I said no, we are on land on the earth. She said" the earth is in the sky" Yep, you are right. we've been talking a lot bout the universe and the moon lately!

"Mom, can i have a treat or should i just be sneaky and get one?"
-nipped that one in the butt!

" I'm just a little bitty kid, i can't clean very good"
Nice try again. 0% success rate with me

"I wanna go with you Daddy, cuz' you're a GOOD driver"

Red Rock Canyon after 6pm

is closed. So, if you decide to park your car at the first parking lot (about 2 miles in) and car pool with someone the rest of the one-way eleven mile stretch, Make sure you do it long before 4:30. Otherwise, you will have to be dropped off at the closed gate of the park's entrance ( at 6:15) and walk or run uphill , with your camera bag, in your jeans and not your workout clothes, to your car, by yourself. You see, NO ONE is coming in the park behind you, the gate is closed! And it's a one way street so, You will be getting to your car on foot!

That's what i did Saturday! I also took 2 Senior photos at Red Rock Canyon that day. I took some kids photos on Friday. I played with my girls and Daddy. we went out with Jeantiel and Todd Saturday night for a nice dinner! Sunday we went to church and to Mike and Natalie's then Heidi and Q's place to stare at Baby Tatum and have great food. It was nice! I love weekends like this. i am rested and ready to edit LOTS of photos now, make more jewelry, train another assistant and edit more photos:) As well as take 3 peoples pics this week. And my regular 5 day week workouts!
Bobby( My Trainer), You are a MEAN guy! You never let me quit and you are a BRAT! Thanks for pushing me. And YES, I'm more flexible than practically everyone else my age( minus the cirque du soliel dancers) So, don't be shocked anymore.

Brandon, I LOVE you so much. you are the best husband ever. You help me get the girls ready every monrning, you do dishes and want me to hug you all the time. You are still flirty with me and so motivated to be a great provider. You are so fun and such a good daddy and MAN! LOVE YOU, BABE!( GUSH,GUSH!)

Oh yeah, i want to publicly congratulate these people for having BUNS in the Ovens!
